Our Story

The addition of hand-crafted beer was a natural progression in our family business, which started out over 30 years ago. Don & Nancy Kucera ran a dairy operation which peaked at a one time production of milking 135 head of cows. Distribution of Grade A Raw Milk to outlying areas included Medford, Bend, and Lakeview.

In 1987, the Kuceras began a small pizza business in the Keno area. They moved that small pizza business to Klamath Falls in early 1988.

Rod Kucera, the son of Don & Nancy, began investigating the micro-brew business in 1995. He then devoted all of 1996 to converting the former dairy into a brewery, utilizing much of the dairy equipment and dairy hardware.

This leads us to an exciting 1997, with the creation of Mia & Pia's Pizzeria & Brewhouse. You can see much of the reclaimed dairy equipment and hardware in daily use at the pizzeria.

The photo above shows our "Mug Club" mugs hanging from an old harrow.

We continue to grow steadily. Our plans are to expand even further with the introduction of new brews and products. Within a short time, we will be providing fresh and unique micro-brews to retail outlets and other restaurants and taverns throughout the region.

Thanks to our many customers for believing in us and standing behind us through our growing pains. It was worth the wait. Our anticipation of future expansion, customer satisfaction, and the fact that we can bring a little 'homegrown notoriety' to Klamath Falls, is what keeps us going!

We hope you join us for the fun!
